Incidents 2005 (10, 09, 08, 07, 06, 05)

October 5th 2005. Water Yat Bottom
Trainee paraglider suffered a bad landing on steep hillside. Team called by air ambulance personnel to assist with stretcher evacuation to helicopter.

June 15th 2005. Knock Fell
21 year old male lost in thick mist, having walked out of the area covered by his map and having lost his compass. Team Leader advised and guided the man by telephone to a point where members of Teesdale team were able to pick him up in a vehicle.

June 10th 2005. Knoutberry
Paraglider reported to have a broken lower leg caused by hard landing. Team requested air ambulance to attend before deploying to fellside. On arrival the air ambulance had already arrived and the team stood by at their request until evacuation complete.

June 7th 2005. Hellgill, Mallerstang
Lamb stuck in shake hole recovered successfully by team members.

June 5th 2005. Nine Standards Rigg
Fell runner participant in Kirkby Stephen Yomp exhausted at Nine Standards checkpoint. Team requested to escort off and transport back to control. Very wet and windy conditions also led to several other minor incidents during the event.

June 2nd 2005. Nine Standards Rigg
Family group of three caught in thick mist on top of Nine Standards. Requested help to find descent route. Given directions off  and help with use of compass by telephone.

May 31st 2005. Coast to Coast route between Kirkby Stephen and Keld
Male walker's father had been taken to hospital from Kirkby Stephen. Ambulance crew requested team to try to locate his son on the fell. He was found and brought to Kirkby Stephen.

May 20th 2005. Tommy Road, Mallerstang
Lone walker with history of knee problem and taking heart medication reported overdue from walk when his dog returned to car alone. Team members responding when missing man reappeared safe and sound.

May 17th 2005. Aisgill Gorge

Ewe and lamb recovered safely from ledge above gorge.

April 20th 2005. Nine Standards Rigg
Air ambulance called team as back up assistance for three 60 year old ladies, one with broken leg and all with signs of onset of hypothermia. All three ladies evacuated by air ambulance.

April 16th 2005. Grisedale Pike, Whinlatter
Mistake in information received by police. Location of incident given as Grisedale Pike, near Sedbergh. In fact it was at Grisedale Pike, Whinlatter. No action required save for correct team being contacted to respond.

March 28th 2005. Cautley Spout
60 year old female walker slipped on grassy bank. Broken leg. Team evacuated casualty to ambulance.

February 24th 2005. Mallerstang
Team called to assist ambulance service to evacuate medical emergency from residential premises. Ambulance 400 metres from house on highway with snow on the ground.

January 15th 2005. Kirkby Stephen Grammar School
Various assistance given to four competitors in school county cross-country event.

January 8th 2005. Appleby Town Centre
Team called to assist police and fire service during flood water emergency, the river Eden having burst its banks in Appleby town centre.
